Andrew Waholek

Andrew has been a passionate coin collector since 1992. In 2014, he formed his own business specializing in the buying and selling of coins, gold, silver, and paper money. He also manages a coin shop in New Jersey outside Trenton called Colonial Valley Coins.

Besides his coin expertise and charming sense of humor, Andrew has been metal detecting for over thirteen years. You won’t find him playing my button is bigger than your button at any raging metal detecting parties, but he has quite the collection of dug relics and coins cluttering his shelves. (And the closet, and under his bed, and on the kitchen counters… and everywhere else.)

Andrew even shares his metal detecting adventures on YouTube. You can watch them here.

The Naughty Dog

The original mascot was excavated from a site in Cumberland County, PA during a metal detecting adventure.  Although a mystery at first, it soon became clear that this squatting dog was also a symbol of American Independence. A firework toy from the 1940s, brandished at Fourth of July parties and passed around between the children, the general premise is to stick a flaming snake in his rear and light it on fire–thus creating the illusion of… well… you get the idea.

Seeing as how this curious relic took the cake as one of Andrew’s favorite finds, it also became the mascot for his detecting channel and his business. Though, we did re-invent him a little bit for the business.
